On the 26th of January 2011, Ellen Greenberg, a 27-year-old elementary school teacher living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was found dead in her apartment by her fiancé, Samuel Goldberg. Shockingly, Ellen had been stabbed 20 times, primarily in her chest and back.

Samuel had returned home from work to find Ellen lying on the floor of their kitchen. bleeding out, with multiple stab wounds to the front and back of her body.

A knife was still lodged in her chest.

Ten of the stab wounds were located on her back and neck. In addition to the stab wounds, there were also eleven bruises found on her right arm, abdomen, and right leg, which were in different stages of healing. Despite the nature of the injuries, the initial investigation treated the crime scene as a suicide, even with no suicide note being discovered.

How could Ellen have stabbed herself 20 times, including in the back of her head?

Something just didn’t add up.
