On the 26th of April 2009, a young mother was waiting in her car in the Target parking lot of Snellville, Georgia. This was like any other day for 25-year-old Heather Strube. Her normal routine was meeting her estranged husband here to retrieve her son, 18-month-old Carson, for his shared custody visits.

But immediately after the cordial exchange took place, while Heather was strapping her baby into his car seat, someone approached her vehicle and shot her point-blank in the head.

Carson witnessed his mother’s murder right in front of him.

It was around 6 p.m. when Heather was suddenly shot in the forehead with a .38 caliber handgun. The shooting in broad daylight caused a stir from the other patrons in the parking lot.

Onlookers began frantically calling 911 to report the incident, describing the shooter as a short male with dark hair and a mustache, wearing khakis and a button-up shirt. Witnesses also told police that the killer could have possibly been wearing a wig and fake mustache.

Heather’s purse was left untouched in the car, so police deduced that robbery was not the motive…
