If you are a member of the true crime community, you have undoubtedly heard the name Lawrence Singleton and, in turn, have heard the courageous story of his victim, Mary Vincent, who survived an unbelievably gruesome murder attempt. But little is known about Singleton’s second victim, Roxanne Hayes, who unfortunately lost her life to an escalated killer.
This is her story.
Roxanne Hayes was a beautiful 31-year-old mother of three who always worked hard to support her young family. In February 1997, her daughter, only 11 years old, had to identify the lifeless body of her mother, who had been brutally stabbed seven times.
Roxanne’s partner, Clifford Tyson, recounted the events of that fateful Wednesday she disappeared. He remembered how she had left for the nearby grocery store in good spirits. Nothing seemed amiss. However, as the hours passed, he became concerned as Roxanne failed to return home.
