The Lost Victims Found Hidden on Gilgo Beach
Rex Heuermann, a prominent New York City architect and a married father of two, was arrested in July 2023 as the prime suspect in the notorious Gilgo Beach murders. The “Gilgo Four,” refers to four women whose bodies were found wrapped in burlap within a few days of each other in late 2010.
For years, the killer eluded police and bodies continued to show up along Ocean Parkway in Suffolk County. In total, 10 sets of human remains have been found, and there could be more.
The victims were mostly women, who advertised their services on the online classified ad platform, Craigslist. They often worked in the New York area and had green or hazel eyes, though there were two exceptions — a 2-year-old girl and a young Asian man.
In all of the chaos surrounding the Long Island Serial Killer, it is important to remember the victims that lost their lives to this devious monster.
They were loved, and still are.
