Katarzyna Zowada, a 23-year-old university student in Kraków, disappeared without a trace on November 12, 1998. She was supposed to meet her mother for a therapy appointment that day but never showed up. Weeks passed with no word from her. Her mother, desperate for answers, pushed authorities to investigate, convinced something terrible had happened.

On January 6, 1999, a pusher boat captain on the Vistula River noticed something tangled in his propeller. What he thought was debris turned out to be a horrifying discovery: a piece of human skin, carefully cut, and stitched into the shape of a bodysuit.

DNA tests soon confirmed the skin had belonged to Katarzyna. Days later, her severed leg was also pulled from the river.

The rest of her body was never recovered.

This wasn’t just a murder, it was something much darker. The “bodysuit” was hauntingly reminiscent of serial killer Ed Gein, who infamously fashioned clothing from human remains. Whoever targeted Katarzyna didn’t stop…
