Nurse Murdered Husband, Then Dismembered Him With a Power Saw- “The Suitcase Killer”
Melanie McGuire is serving a life sentence for the murder of her husband, whose body parts were found scattered in three suitcases.

On the 28th of April 2004, nurse Melanie Lyn McGuire murdered her husband. But she didn’t just murder him. She dismembered his body, stuffed his parts into multiple suitcases, and tossed the suitcases into the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. It wasn’t long before her deadly secret began to wash up on shore.
She was sentenced on the 19th of July, 2007, and is serving time at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton, New Jersey. She maintains her innocence.
Melanie married her husband, William T. “Bill” McGuire, in 1999. The couple was married for five years, had two children together, and were living in an apartment in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. At the time of his death, Bill was working as a computer programmer and Melanie was a nurse at a local fertility clinic in Morristown.
Bill was never heard from again after 6:10 p.m. on April 28th. This was out of character for him as he was known to be very active on the phone and his Blackberry. He was in the midst of finalizing the purchase of a new home for the family and always communicated regularly when it came to his job.
On that fateful night, authorities say Melanie drugged Bill and then shot him to death in their home. Afterward, she used a power saw to dismember her husband’s body and then divided the remains into three separate suitcases. She disposed of them in Chesapeake Bay.

Bill McGuire’s remains were found less than a month later when local fishermen stumbled upon a suitcase that contained a pair of human legs. About a week later, another suitcase was found washed up on shore at the Fisherman Island National Wildlife Refuge. Inside this suitcase were a head and a torso.
Bullet wounds were found in the victim: one in the head and two in the chest. A few days later, the third…
