For over six years, the Canadian nurse and social worker claimed someone was harassing her through phone calls and violence. Then suddenly, in 1989, she disappeared, only to be discovered bound, drugged, and deceased miles away from where her car was found.
In June of 1989, Cindy James’s body was discovered in the yard of an abandoned house. It was clear to investigators that she had been badly beaten. Her body was covered in bruises. A toxicology report revealed a lethal dose of morphine in her system.
She had been bound at her wrists and ankles. Still, police were quick to determine her suspicious death as a suicide. They even went as far as to claim that she had staged the entire thing.
It all started in 1982, shortly after her divorce, when she received a call from a stranger. The call was followed by years of harassment. She reported numerous incidents of harassment to the police. She had filed 100 complaints for offenses that included property damage, home invasion…
