On the 25th of December 2011, a Southern California father was unwrapping presents with his children. Beside him was his wife, sitting up on the living room sofa and wearing sunglasses. As they were enjoying the joy of Christmas morning, the man leaned over and told his children, “Mommy ruined Christmas, she got drunk and ruined Christmas.”

Their mother was dead.

William Wallace was living in Anaheim, California with his wife, 26-year-old Za’zell Dominique Preston, and their 3 beautiful children. The night before Christmas, he beat his wife to death.

The following morning, before the kids began to open their gifts, he propped Za’zell’s body upright on the couch and covered her eyes with a pair of sunglasses. He wanted to make it appear as though she was drunk but still alive.

Za’zell had just given birth to her third child, the couple’s first, only seven weeks before she was murdered. Sadly, the marriage hadn’t been a happy one and Za’zell had been victim to years of domestic violence. On December 24th of that year, after arriving home…
