On the 12th of February 2014, Pravin Varughese, a 19-year-old criminal justice student, disappeared from Morton Grove, a suburb of Chicago. He was at a party with his friends on College Street that night when he left on foot. Tragically, his lifeless body was discovered in the nearby woods days later on February 18.

Pravin, a sophomore studying criminal justice at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and a graduate of Niles West High School, lost his life following what prosecutors claim was a drunken altercation with someone he didn’t even know. According to authorities, after the altercation, Pravin wandered into a wooded area and succumbed to the harsh sub-zero temperatures of the night.

But his family says that isn’t the case and the police are lying about the death of their son.
