It wasn’t just a passing interest; Lori’s belief in the end times and her affair with Chad grew into something far more dangerous. Charles began to see the warning signs. Frantic to get help and protect the couple’s two children, Charles called the police, telling them that his wife had threatened to kill them. He told officers that Lori thought she was a god preparing for the apocalypse.
Charles filed for divorce at one point, but love, hope, or maybe just desperation led him to give their marriage another chance. He even planned an intervention, hoping to bring her back to reality.
