On December 15, 2017, the luxurious Toronto home of Barry and Honey Sherman became the scene of a chilling discovery. The wealthy and popular couple was found dead during an open house.

The Toronto police initially considered the scene to be that of a “murder-suicide,” but the coroner ruled both of their deaths as homicide.

Barry was the founder of Apotex Inc., a major pharmaceutical company, and was a well-known figure in Toronto. Despite their high profile, he and his wife, Anna Debra “Honey” Reich, who married in 1971 and had four children, led a relatively modest personal life.

The couple was also recognized for their philanthropy, generously donating to hospitals, universities, and community centers throughout the city.
