To learn the full story, read my article on All That’s Interesting.

On August 2, 2006, lawyer Robert Wone was spending the night with his old college friend and two roommates in Washington, D.C. Wone was on a business trip and had asked his friend if it would be alright for him to sleep over that evening.

Sometime in the night, Wone was stabbed to death on the pullout couch he was sleeping on. When first responders arrived, they found the 32-year-old lawyer lying cold in the guest room… but what they didn’t find was even more interesting.

Wone had no defensive wounds on his hands or arms. There was no sign of a struggle, and it seemed as though he had been unconscious during the attack. There was an inconsistent amount of blood on his body, or anywhere else in the house for that matter.

Investigators believe his killer may have injected him with drugs or a sedative to prevent him from fighting back and it was evident that he had been restrained and sexually assaulted.
