The discovery of the bodies of a missing teen and her boyfriend was prompted by the presence of flies and a foul odor. Danielle Marzejka an 18-year-old girl from Clinton Township, Michigan, was brutally murdered, along with her boyfriend, Seren Bryan, 19, on August 26, 2018.

The two were found in trash bags inside a shed behind their home where they lived with Danielle’s father.

Danielle’s brother, Robert Marzejka, was later convicted of their murders and sentenced to life in prison without parole. The victims had been suffocated with duct tape, and both had suffered blunt force trauma to their heads.

Robert Marzejka was found with the victims’ blood on his hammer and duct tape, and his fingerprints matched those found on the duct tape.

The motive for the killings remains unclear.
