You may or may not have heard of the following true crime stories, but each one is important in its own way. The victims of these horrendous acts were somebody: somebody’s child, somebody’s mother, somebody’s father, somebody’s friend. They deserved to be remembered. Their lives still live on in the lessons their tragedies can teach us. We are not always safe, even with those we love, and with those whom we believe to love us as well.

Cassie Jo Stoddart was a wonderful friend, but unfortunately, she wasn’t lucky enough to have wonderful friends. One evening while watching her aunt’s house, Cassie invited her boyfriend and two of her classmates, Brian Draper and Torey Adamcik, over to hang out. Later that night, her two friends claimed they were leaving to go see a movie, but they never actually left the home.
